Record Warm Week at Nome

The average temperature at Nome for the week of June 4-10 of 61.8°F (16.6°C) is easily the warmest week of record so early in the summer in the Gold Rush City. The only comparable week was June 5-11, 1957, when the weekly average was 60.8°F (16.0°C). Climate observations have been made at Nome, with only a couple of breaks, since late 1906.
