Record High Temperature at Fairbanks

The high temperature at Fairbanks on June 9 of 90°F (32°C) not only broke the previous record of 87°F (31°C) set in 1957, it was also the second earliest occurrence in the summer of a temperature of 90°F (32°C) or higher. The only earlier occurrence in more than a century of climate observations occurred May 28, 1947, when the temperature also reached 90°F (32°C).
