Distance learning modules on climate decision support in the Arctic

Project Overview

Dates: October 2017—October 2019

Primary Scientists:

Arctic-focused climate training is not currently available in the NWS, but is required for successful evolution of effective Decision Support Services. The project will utilize recommendations on user engagement in the Arctic region as identified by ACCAP via intereviews and survyes. The users include NOAA staff and technical users from various economic sectors such as water resources, emergency management, energy, health, etc.

ACCAP will compile an assessment of Alaska and Arctic user needs, primarily a review of current literature and existing ACCAP work and we will deliver a set of recommended climate tools needed for selected sector decision support services.
